You quickly learn to give the ball a light tossing motion in the sling by giving one side more of a pull. With a minute's practice, you can turn the ball in any direction as you toss, which allows you to reach the entire ball surface. It's fast and easy. I would not store a ball with a reactive cover in this, however, as it may absorb cleaner from the cloth. Storing a plastic ball in the carrier would not be a problem, though.
